Of all parts of the human body, the brain is the most wonderfully and fearfully made. I say wonderfully because the three pound fatty organ of consciousness is capable of recruiting neighboring cells to internally repair itself (given the opportunity); and I add fearfully because its most preciously invested design is ineffably more complex than the entire universe, yet it lives between such fine parameters that a minuscule imbalance in chemistry can prematurely return it to dust. And the brain must be nourished. Below is an outline of its favorite food, which may surprise many dieticians.

See “Ketogenics” page or a more information about how to help the brain respond to therapy, to protect it against seizures and dementia, and to optimize its ability to cognitively function.
